I Will Bring You Home

Why is it that tough times hit hard? This past week my younger cousin was killed in a 1 car accident. Steven was 20 and was a kid that loved life. He worked in a motorcycle repair shop and loved to live life to it's fullest. Unfortunately he was a part of some poor decisions and ended up losing his life prematurely. This all happened after my roomate had a classmate killed as well as a close family friend passed away after a long battle with a disease. Then tonight I get an email saying that one of the staff members of Bethany College was also killed in a car accident. So again I ask the question, why is it that tough times hit so hard? Things like this always happen in clusters all at once. The only comfort I can offer is found in the song I will sing for my cousin's funeral.
I Will Bring You Home by Michael Card
Though you are hurting, though you’re alone
I will be your home
Whatever’s the matter, whatever’s been done
I will be your home

I will be your home, I will be your home
I this fearful, fallen place
I will be your home

When time reaches fullness, when I move my hand
I will bring you home
Home to your own place in a beautiful land
I will bring you home

I will bring you home, I will bring you home
From this fearful, fallen place
I will bring you home
I will bring you home

funny how times like these make you appreciate just how precious and fragile life here is. definitely not something to take for granted.

Stephen was a special kid. He'll be greatly missed. I hope we are all ready when God calls us to His heavenly home. Pray for strength for Greg and Mary Beth, they are going to need it for a long time to come!!
