I'm doing this next session on making sure your foundation is set before entering into a relationship with another person. Do any of you have any profound thoughts on why this is important? Leave your thoughts as well as your first name and age. Thanks!!!

There must not be any profound thoughts out there. Minds are evidently mushy right now.
i would leave something...but im not sure what a profound thought is... ~HoZ
If you're talking about the foundation being Christ, I think it goes without saying that this is essential. A Christ centered family is one that will celebrate together the good times, and will know where to go to find hope and comfort and strength in the bad.
If you're talking in more earthly terms, I must say that there is no more important foundation than of mutual respect and honor for your spouse or mate. Men must look at their mate as the most precious thing on earth to them. Likewise for women. If you continually lift up your mate with support and love, there aren't many issues that can't be easily resolved. It was a life and relationship changing revelation for my wife and me when we discovered this thru a Gary Smalley video series at our church years ago.
Just my 2 cents worth.

well we are not as deep as kevin f. (havent been married 25 years...congrats kevin f.!) but... a set foundation is good so that your relationship doesnt go anywhere that is not God's plan for you, which would be easy to do if God wasnt your focus. ( alyssa says it would be uncomfortable)
You have to be sure in who God is before you can be sure in yourself enough to have a relationship with someone else. that is our profound thought. s.
