This past April MJ managed to tear a tendon in the bottom of her foot. It has been a major pain (literally) for her/us for the past 8 months. During this time she has had 2 casts, 2 boots, and multiple treatments. Ok, I'll get to the point. We took a look at the doctor bill for the recent cast she had on before the wedding. Astronomical!!! Here's what it said...
High leg cast - $359
Now to me, that means that it costs almost $360 to wrap paper mache around her leg. We did some more research and discovered this...
Cast supplies - $37
Now if my math is correct, that means that it costs $322 for the labor of putting on a cast. Let's dig a little deeper. Since it takes about 15 minutes to put a high leg cast on, the doctor's office is making $21.46 per minute. WHAT?!?!?!? At least auto mechanics have bleeding knuckles and are manually expanding some energy for the highway robbery that they are participating in. These doctors/nurses/practitioners aren't even breaking a sweat. In fact, they don't even have to think. They are simply repeating a skill they learned in doctor school. You're telling me the knowledge they have for mummy wrapping is worth $322? And to make it worse, they've messed up both times they put MJ in a cast and charged us again for the supplies...both times!!!
This is asinine!! Can I get an Amen?

AMEN!!;)
Hey, I agree with the horrible high prices for medical services! It's outragous, but don't include the nurses in that, because we have no say in the price of services, we just get payed a salary. :)
