Speed Its Coming
"You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming." 2 Peter 3:11-12 As I reflect on this passage I begin to wonder if I really want to speed its coming. This refers to the Day of the Lord, the end times. What about having kids and moving on in my career? What about judgment? That's a scary word that's synonymous with the end times. Am I ready to be held accountable for my life? There are so many things I've yet to do and see. Am I really ready to speed its coming? The nice thing is that once its here, I won't have to worry about it or anything else ever again. No worries, no pain, no tears. Well...maybe I am ready. I fear the Lord, I love the Lord, I look forward to the day I meet the Lord.

Ah yes, end times. There are plenty of things I'd like to do and experience before life on this side is over, yet I know it does not compare to eternity with Jesus. Too many people worry about "when" as opposed to being ready. As long as I'm ready, the when will take care of itself
