The Best of Vegas

Well, I had the opportunity over the Christmas break to spend some time in Vegas where my brother and sister-in-law live. Drove there with my parents and other brother, that's right, all 16 hours one way. But it was worth it. It's funny though, as crazy fun as the Strip is supposed to be, I enjoyed going on the outside of the city more than inside. We spent one evening on the Strip seeing the Bellagio water show, riding on the New York New York rollercoaster, and yes walking through all the casinos. That's a different world in itself. The following day we took a short drive to Red Rocks Canyon. It was by far the most beautiful part of the city. We hiked up 1.5 miles to a natural spring there and just took in the awesome scenery. I don't know about you all, but there is something about seeing God's great creation that I find breathtaking. All the man made casinos, skyscrapers, and other architectural gems don't hold a candle to what God did.

Yeah, I never really liked all the big-city business myself either.

i love the big city stuff... i love the way buildings look... but you're right... it doesn't hold a candle to what God created.

and even that said... man couldn't create what He has without God having given us the rules the world revolves on...

have a nice day
